My wife and I decided to remain in the house with our two young children during the works. This has provided David and his team with challenges and certain complications, all of which have been taken on without any complaint. They have assisted in moving our belongings, reinstating our appliances such as fridge and washing machine upstairs, and have even gone out of their way to ensure that our boiler was relocated as needed and kept active to allow our family to have access to hot water during the build work. All of which has really helped us during what can be a very testing period.
The work itself has been overseen by Richard as site foreman. Richard has been a pleasure to work with and I really cannot recommend him highly enough. His approach to managing and running the building project has been professional in every way. He maintains an orderly and tidy site, he manages his team effectively and delivers the work in an efficient and timely manner. Our project included a number of delicate operations such as replacing load bearing walls with steel support beams and installing large panes of glass to the rooflights. Richard took great pains to ensure that every detail was carefully thought through and well planned which led to successful execution with no adverse issues experienced. We have really appreciated the care and consideration that Richard applies to his work.
As for the rest of the team, I am happy to say that each and every one of the team are a pleasure to work with. This has been a very important aspect of our project given I have a young family and we are living through the work. David’s team are, to a man, polite, friendly, courteous and helpful. They often help my wife navigate through the site with a pram full of children, and they do their best to avoid or minimise impacts to our living conditions – this is not always 100% possible given the amount of demolition work and building construction work involved, but we have appreciated the effort that has been put in by each of the team to ensure that we are as comfortable as possible during the work.
While any large scale building project such as ours invariably has trials and tribulations, I have found that I am able to work with David to address issues as they arise and have been pleased with his proactive way in working with me to ensure the desired outcome is attained while also being fair and reasonable when unexpected alterations are required.
